Bible Reading Comments from Sun Lakes, AZ 2/2/14

Ground Hog day. We will be headed home to Dillon this week. Probably Thursday. Lots to do when we get back. Readings are in Exodus 16, Mathew 22, Psalm 27 and Proverbs 6 We learned all about manna and its distribution. More about the nature of the Kingdom of Heaven. Living in the Temple of the Lord and the importance of leading an obedient life. It is interesting and ironic how we view gifts from God. The Manna was to be gathered everyday and just enough for that day. Except for the sixth day when the people were told to gather twice the amount, enough for the Sabbath day of rest. The main concern of the people was getting their fair share. Thankfulness did not seem to be the highest priority. Some even tried to gather more than their share. Guess what, the excess spoiled. It didn’t matter how much they gathered, it was always enough. Where are your priorities? Remember the questions. Who are you? Where did you come from? Why are you here? And, Where are you going? Sustaining yourself while you are here isn’t one of the questions. Is this the attitude that caused us to fall? Are we focused on the wrong thing? What is the main thing? Read these verses and think about the information. Who is this God? Why am I here? What is my relationship with God supposed to be? Is it important to know who sent you and why? Or, do you just pick yourself up and try to exist?
